Final Project Assignment

Everyone has experienced student life before. There are uniqueness and creativity in student life. There

are a lot of different in school days and university days. Karim, is a new student in Multimedia University

(MMU). At the beginning of Beta year, Karim is a very religious, smart and curious person. He always

wanted to know everything even though it never relate with the course he take. Every day he spent his

time in library and mosque. He always came to class early and loves to sit in front. The concentration in

class is important to him. He always meet his lecturer for consultation hour to add more information

regarding to the subject he took. During free time, he always goes to library to search for a question and

try to overcome the question with an easiest solution. He always sees a problem as an interesting

challenge and his friends always come to see him when need help. He used this advantage to make

friends with others because of his intelligent.

For a new Beta student, Karim always follow the rules. Long sleeve shirts and always tucked in; his daily

attires. His hair always combed well and looks like a secondary school student. His friends always laugh

at him with his dressed up, but he just ignored it. When his friends laughed at him, he always comes out

with statement of “The History of Flight”. It’s about Wright Brothers used to be laughed during their

time before because their invention which is to make people to fly.

During the Beta year third trimester, he started to realize a true life in being a student in MMU. It’s all

because of friend name Joe, his new classmates and started to be influenced by him. He slowly changed

the way of dressed up, from a formal attire to a newly fashion style such as wearing a t-shirt, jeans and

with a new hairstyles and coloured his hair.

Now he’s in second year of his degree. He started to change from a good person to a difference person

we know before; start to break university rules. He now started to skip, come late to class and always

make excuses to lecturer when he doesn’t attend the class. It’s all because every night, he followed Joe

hang out until late doing nothing and always miss doing his homework until he started to copying others

works. It’s a kind of optimism attitude when he knows “that no problem cannot be solved”. He also

cheating in his exam by bringing extra notes that totally not allowed by observing what Joe always did

when he’s not well prepared when taking an exam. He does always have ways how to overcome his

problems by not involving others and benefit himself. In this situation, he’s using confronting challenge

skill to solve his problems. At this point, he’s on track to become like Joe. He idolized Joe, like Joe, he

wants to attracted others attention by breaking the rules like, coming to class just to sign his

attendance, end class by himself, and always brings problems to lecturers such as not doing his works

and assignments. He is like to be novelty person. He being infected by “Gamma Radiation”.

When he first enroll into 3rd year, which we call the year of “Delta Begin: Welcome to the Dark Side”, it

marks the beginning of bad to worse. It all begins with the social life of the student itself. He have start

to been socialized with all kind of people, be it good, bad, nerd, gig, drama king, drama queen, liars,

swindler & many more kind of people. Aftermath, he starts to try something new; something that make

people recognized his existent. At first he starts to cling with his friends which can be categorized as a

party people. After awhile he starts to join them partying & clubbing. Clubbing is incomplete without

alcohols & drugs usage. He starts get himself involved with drugs. After become an expert in drugs, he

starts to sell drugs in order to cope up with his new lifestyle. With his new lifestyle, he once again hardly

has time for his study. He can’t complete his assignments, rarely shows up in lectures and failing his

midterms nor exams. For three years, this is the worst semester ever for him. This is the first time he got

terminate from studies.

In creativity, he use the same concept of innovation. In order to make others notice him, he undergoes a

radical change in his lifestyle. From old and boring life style to new, fun and more adventurous lifestyle.

If we look in other perspective, he poses some traits of creative person such as, Optimism; he didn’t

have any money to support his new life styles so he starts selling drugs, Curiosity; start going to club &

consume drugs. Last but not least, confronting challenge; he works out a solution to make people notice

him.

The final part of student life in MMU is the Delta extended year where the “good” side of student’s

creativity started to kick back again. It is the time for him to realize what is the really important things to

do for the time being. The year of “Return of Delta: A new hope”. After getting terminated, appealing to

get back in MMU and getting in the President’s list, his optimism thinking will find easy but effective

ways to dealing with the problems of being a better student but, with financial problems, good

examination results and respected by peers and lecturers. With his flexible imagination, he will start to

figure out and find options to finish his study course with good result. Seeing his classmate that took a

same subject at first year already graduate and start to work, make he feel so frustrated. He started to

build up his internal motivated to complete his studies.

One of the ways is to be close and friendly with smart-hardworking students so that he can be on the

same level with them. Whatever he is not good at can be learn or teach by them. Using his ability of

perseverance, one of the ways to be friend with them is by approaching the opposite sex with the coolgood

looking guy type that will attract their attention and then get easily be friend. Therefore, Karim is

not just being motivated by himself. He also motivated by a person name, Siti. Siti knows all about

Karim’s past time. He also idolize the way of Karim face his problem and solve it. She want to help Karim

reconstruct back and to become a better man like before.

The way of dealing with tuition fees that is not supported by any loaner is to get from the “FAMA loan”,

the father and mother help. His parent had to find the money from anywhere after a lot of pleadings

and promises given by him. Then, he started to realize, all the journey of his life that already past is

about getting experience to become a good person and person that can accept by community. In

addition, he also knows that breaking a rule is not a catastrophe, but, he need to know the rule before

he could break it up. All experience from past that he learn make him become mature and ready to

facing a real world. Finally, the outcomes are he get a good examination results, finish the entire subject

course and he graduate with a smile on a face.
